Dementia Friendly Middlesbrough

Join us on our mission to make more Middlesbrough Dementia Friendly Communities

According to Alzheimer’s Society research, 69% of people living with dementia said the main reason they stop going out is due to a lack of confidence. Can we have the next dance

Our dances are held most weeks in Middlesbrough and Redcar, and they’re open to anyone living with dementia and their carer.

They offer reminiscence through music along with great fun; we sometimes get musicians to come and play plus we have our own DJ, so you can make requests.  We usually have a big screen so you can also watch the original videos with the music. We take a break to have a little picture quiz during the session, then we have more dancing!
If you fancy a dance then please get in touch!

Is your business dementia friendly?

Working with businesses and organisations in Middlesbrough to make them more dementia friendly is an essential initiative aimed at improving the lives of people living with dementia in the area. This collaborative effort involves raising awareness about dementia and educating business owners, staff and volunteers on how to recognise and assist people living with dementia. The aim is to create an environment that is welcoming, supportive and accessible for people living with dementia, their families and caregivers. This effort can lead to greater social inclusion, reduced stigma and a better quality of life for people with dementia. By fostering a community that understands and supports people living with dementia, we can create a more vibrant, inclusive and compassionate society that benefits everyone.

Dementia friendly organisations benefit everyone
